The front of the memorial is inscribed as follows:

"In Honour of the Men of Stillingfleet and Kelfield Who Gave Their Lives for England in the Great War 1914 – 1919. This Cross is Raised by a Grateful Parish. All You Had Hoped For All You Had You Gave To Save Mankind Yourselves You Scorned To Save The Lord Fought For Israel"

The right had side of the memorial is inscribed as follows (the date is the date of enlistment and the number is the age at death:
