Private 8232, 14th Bn., London Regiment (London Scottish). Killed in action 7th November 1916. Son of Mr. F. F. Briggs, of 20 Trinity Lane, Micklegate, York. Buried Laventie Military Cemetery, La Gorgue. Nord, France, III. B. 16. George Briggs lived in York and enlisted in Glasgow.

Lance Corporal 11658, 11th Bn., West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own). Killed in action 7th June 1917. Aged 28. Brother of Edward Brown, of 11, Mayfield Terrace, Tadcaster, York. Commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, Panel 21. Richard Brown was born in Chruch Fenton and enlisted in York.

Private 1812, 5th Bn., West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own). Died of wounds 27th September 1915. Aged 19. Son of Mrs. L. McKechnie, of 18, Queen's Rd. Immingham, Grimsby, Lincs. Buried Etaples Military Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France, IV. G. 5. Frank Hardwick was born in Stockport, lived and enlisted in York.

Reed, Ivan Victor
Corporal 122287, "D" Coy. 20th Bn., Machine Gun Corps (Infantry) formerly East Riding Yeomanry. Died 1st April 1918. Aged 23. Son of William and Louisa Reed, of Hurton Villa, Copmanthorpe, York. Commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, France, Panel 90 to 93. Ivan Reed was born in Skelton, lived in Copmanthorpe and enlisted in Hull. Previously served as private 203353, Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.

Commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, Somme, France, Panel 27 and 28. Arthur Walter was awarded the Military Medal.
